The Client
The Stevie Ray Vaughan Blues Man Print was a self-initiated fine art piece created as a tribute to one of the most distinctive figures in blues and rock. It also serves as a portfolio piece showing how I bring illustration, typography, and symbolic branding together in a single finished design.
The Goal

About the Stevie Ray Vaughan Blues Man Print

The goal of the Stevie Ray Vaughan Blues Man Print was to capture the raw presence, mystique, and larger-than-life style that made Stevie such a powerful figure onstage and off. I wanted the piece to feel rooted in the history of the blues while still carrying the theatrical energy that defined him as a performer.

Visually, the direction leaned into vintage linework, old-world ornament, and the kind of hand-built detail that gives a piece the feeling of something discovered rather than generated. The custom SRV symbol, the Dobro steel guitar, and the framing elements were all designed to support that mood and connect the print to blues tradition, collectible print design, and the visual language of music history.

The Result
The finished Stevie Ray Vaughan Blues Man Print combines etched-style illustration, custom typography, and symbolic design into a piece that feels part tribute print and part vintage artifact. The central portrait, the ornate framing, and the repeated SRV marks all work together to give the composition a distinct identity rather than functioning as a simple fan poster.

It also shows the range of what I bring to music-related design work. Illustration, logo thinking, typography, and print composition are all built into the same piece. For collectors, music fans, venues, and anyone drawn to blues history, it works as both a finished artwork and a strong example of visual storytelling through design.
