The Client

The Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Poster aimed to capture the “live wire” intensity and electric stage presence that distinguished Stevie’s blues performances—energy I personally experienced at several unforgettable shows. Influenced by my favorite artist Frank Frazetta’s bold, dramatic style and the cinematic mood of Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns, my vision was to fuse dynamic illustration and expressive typography into an artwork evocative of both musical and visual storytelling. This piece also commemorates Stevie’s innovative career and short-lived life, reminding viewers of his place among history’s greatest guitarists and as a blues revivalist of the 1980s.

I illustrated the Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Poster as a vibrant, multi-layered fine art print. Bold colors, stylized lighting, and kinetic composition nod to Frazetta’s fantasy energy while the western-inspired graphic flourishes echo the drama of Leone’s cinematic worlds. The piece brings Stevie’s boisterous blues and heartfelt stage charisma into visual form, using original typography to amplify the poster’s music-event authenticity. Serving as both a collectible artwork and promotional poster, this tribute not only honors Stevie Ray Vaughan’s legacy, but showcases my illustration and design approach for bands, venues, and the fine art print world.
